Denser Suns 04:43
Father do you think the sun will disappear? No son, it’s been there a billion years Mother will the red moon fall from the sky? No child, it’s the spirit of the night Surrender, don’t ask when The mass will swallow everything with the force of a dying star So Orion, he’s the only one you know? The shining knight among the stars he glows Oh my dear, I think the clouds are out tonight So we’ll wait for a clear tomorrow-sky Surrender, don’t ask why The mass will swallow everything with the force of a dying star You left me in eclipse behind the cold dark moon In this vacuum tomb I’ll stay here for awhile The dreams they pierced me at the speed of newborn light Our debris is swept away by denser suns, hotter suns Surrender, don’t ask how The mass will swallow everything with the force of a dying star The light is not ours Slides through space At the blink of an eye (Surrender, don’t ask why) The fruitful planets freeze alive so the barren ones can thrive

The light starts to fade at the end of the day 5 o’clock shadows appear on your face Dried grass is stubble upon the earth’s chin As I wait by the window and winter begins As I sit by the window and winter rolls in Suspended between day and night In the dusk of the shadows of your fading smile Dust glows and falls in the gold beams of sun I think it’s old skin that you’ve shed You’re sifting and drifting away before my eyes I leave so I won’t see you go

You fell in love With the shell of a corpse who just cannot give enough Push came to shove With the confidence man of dishonor who can not get enough (Hey!) So sorry for you, I wish nothing but the best Keep you head up high and drown yourself in wine I’m so sorry for you, I wish nothing but the best Sing a lullaby, pretend the world is fine, oh You fell in love With the heart of a corpse who just cannot steal enough Look up to the stars And question the gods why they conjured blue demons in my heart (Hey!) Blame fate on our way down The Morrigan sings battle cries You’ll find the best of the best, you’re fine And you’ll forget all the rest, you’re fine You’ll find the best of the best, you’re fine And you’ll forget all the rest, you’re fine, oh

Be Loud 04:09
Wind blows, ice cold She knows I’m growing old The breeze, she skirts across my face Keeps me awake day after day Oh come on love be loud, I won’t say a word Let the wind howl out, let your voice be heard Oh come on love be loud, that’s what I prefer Let your cold howl out, let your voice be heard Will I make it through the night? Red nose, blood cold She knows my bones will unfold From the joints abused by icy lace Cause me to shake day after day Even when my heat is gone I’ll belong to the harbinger of winter when she calls And I’m buried in snow, two feet down below I lost my rosy glow and all of my toes

I didn’t mean to leave the door open And the welcome mat was a neighborly formality But I guess that it’s convenient that there are two chairs on the porch And enough room in my life for a you So I guess you can stay Oh, I guess you can stay oh As long as you’re here anyway I guess that you can stay I didn’t mean to set an extra dinner plate Or to bake enough lasagna for us both But I guess that it’s convenient that the night’s plans just fell through It looks like I’ll be spending time with you Oh, I guess you can stay for awhile

Sideframe 03:12
I see a silhouette, her sideframe, as we gaze wide-eyed at the stars I see that silhouette, her sideframe, trace the vapor trails to Mars I see her sideframe and I sure don’t want to miss it Boy you knew I had a two way ticket I see a silhouette, her sideframe, sipping slyly from her glass I see that silhouette, her sideframe, steal a sneaky sidelong glance I see a silhouette, her sideframe, dancing wildly in my mind I see that silhouette, her sideframe, slipping sideways next to mine I’ve known you just long enough to know that you’re just enough To keep the world from hurting I’ve known you just long enough to know that you’re just enough To make me want to keep exploring Out of time You’re sideframe in my mind You’re (out)side (of the time) frame in my mind

Tryna get ahead There’s a train in the station conductor’s not waitin’ So if there’s a seat imma take it Step out of my old skin, I don’t need it on this side of the tracks Tryna stay ahead Keep goin’, keep growin’, keep growing up, keep growing out Of the old ways, the old smiles and joys And a voice proclaims you can’t stay in this station But let me braid dandelions into my hair And twirl by the light of the moon Mixing up mischief from midnight to noon Waxing my wings by a waxing gibbous Flights of frivolous fancy, mysterious What can I do to go back to you? Tryna get ahead Drag myself out of bed Guess I misplaced that spring in my step Let it rust with the other tools in the shed Tryna stay ahead Keep goin’, keep sowin’, keep showing up, keep showing off The new ways, the new smiles and joys And a voice proclaims you can’t stay in this station Then one day you’ll cry when you wake up and find That in Dreamland the pixies rubbed juice on your eyes And you slept in their valley for the rest of your life While saplings became strapping pines And you worked at a job you didn’t like For everyday nine to five And you wonder how you let that child die

So Long 03:28
Been waitin’ for so long, been holdin out for far too long Time’s eating us through to curdle our blood Keep the record playing till our time ajurns But find acceptance? I’ll never learn Been waitin’ for so long, been holdin out for too damn long Your black eyes a clue, prepare for the flood Won’t see devils and-a angels in a passing turn But I been waitin so long For something else to talk about to pass the time away, other than dismay But if you think I’ll make it through, you got another thing comin’ to you Our time together is overdue Find your peace, shut out my coup You got another thing comin’ to you Woah. woah. Been waitin’ for so long, been holdin out for too damn long Time’s eating us through, our curdling our blood Won’t see devils and angels in a passing turn But I been waitin so long So long, move along For something else to talk about to pass the time away, other than dismay But if you think I’ll make it through, you got another thing comin’ to you And I been-a waiting I’ve been-a waiting I’ve been-a waiting I’ve been-a waiting It’s over for now so long!

I looked out and across a collapsing universe I saw the sideframe of a child beneath a tree And as I watched, she reached out and caught a falling leaf And I caught a glimpse of peace

about

The odds of existing and experiencing reality as you do are basically zero. Yet, here you are. Capable of love and passion in the cold universe's blink of an eye. The end makes everything disheartening and special at the same time.
